#20 - Wonder Bar, The Coliseum Bar

The Wonder Bar falls under the category of "Bizarro Madison".  I mean, how can I have gone nearly 20 years of living in Madison without ever going to a supper club steak house that was founded by associates of Al Capone in 1923?  All that made for a great tavern night, sitting at a warm bar eating scallops, oysters and wedge salads.

The following new bylaws were adopted unanimously by all members in attendance:

2.8 – Rules governing the Madison Film Festival:
2.8.1 - April is henceforth officially given over to the Film Fest.
2.8.2 - Whoever has April is responsible for choosing the movie and a suitable tavern near the film venue.

After a good time at the Wonder Bar we walked across the parking lot to check out the Coliseum Bar and ran into Guido (pictured on the left above) who was tending bar.  Guido is a real character, and it a veteran of many Grant/Kickapoo River trips.  Seeing Guido was the highlight of our time at the Coliseum, which otherwise didn't have much going on. Its the kind of bar that exists for sporting events (hence the name) so unless there is a game it is just a big empty shell.
