Bylaws

Section 1:  Membership

1.1 - Membership is limited to the number of United States plus territorial possessions.
1.2 - Nominations for membership must be seconded and approved by a unanimous vote.
1.3 - Membership is mostly secret.
1.4 - Spouses of existing members are not eligible for membership.

Section 2:  Meetings

2.1 - Meetings shall take place at taverns in the Madison area.
2.2 - Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month.

2.2.1 - If there is a special bar tender that you really like, you can propose meeting on a day besides Thursday to align that month's meeting with your favorite bar tender's schedule.

2.3 - Meeting locations are chosen based on the following rotation:

Delaware- March

Idaho - April

Montana - May

New Mexico – June

2.3.1 - The rotation set out in section 2.3 is the original meeting location section only.  After that, at the final meeting of a rotation the next rotation will be decided based on a game to be chosen by the member who chose that night's meeting location.
2.3.2 - If the meeting location has a shuffleboard table then shuffleboard shall be the game used to decide the rotation.
2.3.3 - Rock-Paper-Scissors shall not be used to decide the rotation.

2.4 - The location of the next meeting must be decided before the close of proceedings at the current meeting
2.5 - A 2/3 vote of the complete membership is required to veto a meeting location.

2.6 - Rules governing absences (unexcused and otherwise):
2.6.1 - Any member who is unable to attend a schedule meeting must make a good faith effort to reschedule the meeting for an alternate date.
2.6.2 - If a member is a no-show then their reason for being absent will be put up to a vote of the other members to determine if it is excused or not.  Examples of what constitutes an excused absence are:  1) A state of emergency declared by a governmental authority. 2) A trip to urgent care or the emergency room in the 24 hours preceding the meeting.
2.6.3 - If an excuse it deemed by a majority of members casting a vote to be unexcused, then the offending member must bring an individual gift for each person to the next meeting.

2.6.4 – Gifts must be presented in wrapping paper with tape at the tavern.

2.7 - Rules governing music compilations:
2.7.1 - When a new rotation is set the person in the 4th position (referred to as the "Mix Coordinator") is responsible for coordinating, compiling and distributing a music sampler. 
2.7.2 - The Mix Coordinator shall name the theme (if any) of the music sampler at the second Tavern Night of the rotation.
2.7.3 - All Tavern Night participants shall come to the third Tavern Night of the rotation with their selections made.
2.7.4 - The Mix Coordinator is responsible for hosting a listening session at the venue of their choice on the third Tavern Night of the rotation.

2.8 – Rules governing the Madison Film Festival:

2.8.1 - April is henceforth officially given over to the Film Fest.

2.8.2 - Whoever has April is responsible for choosing the movie and a suitable tavern near the film venue.

Section 3:  Guidelines
3.1 - Graze is not a tavern.
3.2 - The guidelines on meeting locations can be loosened for special occasions when the group feels like it.
